Tea & Coffee World Cup heads to Turkey
Tea & Coffee Trade Journal has revealed the next edition of Tea & Coffee World Cup will be held in Istanbul, Turkey in 2020 – the only dedicated international B2B tea and coffee event to be held in the country.
A country crossing two continents, Turkey is the ideal location to celebrate tea and coffee – both of which are an essential part of Turkish culture. Turkey is the largest per-capita consumer of tea in the world at 2.5kg per person per year, and while coffee has always been popular, there is now a growing demand for western standards of coffee from younger generations. Consumption of coffee has grown by 13.2% over the last five years, according to the International Coffee Organization (ICO).
For 2020, Tea & Coffee World Cup will return to an exhibition format. As always the event will offer a variety of machinery demonstrations; live roasting classes and educational workshops for tea and coffee. Tea & Coffee World Conference will return to the show with a speaker line-up of global industry experts.
As with previous years, an exhibitor reception will be held on the first night, this year featuring the Tea & Coffee Global Supplier Awards. The awards celebrate the best tea and coffee suppliers from around the world. Nominations will open in spring 2020.
Megan Freeman, Event Manager, comments ‘We are very excited to announce Tea & Coffee World Cup 2020 in Istanbul, Turkey. With Turkey being one of the leading countries for Tea & Coffee and with its close connections to Europe, Asia and the Middle East it promises to be a successful event. With live roasting classes returning along with our educational tea and coffee workshops as well as keynote speakers in our Tea & Coffee World Conference, the event will be sure to have something for everyone.’
Taking place over three days, the industrial equipment and supplies trade show brings together the entire supply chain from bean and leaf to cup.
