Bühler AG at Tea & Coffee World Cup – live roasting classes and theory
Bühler AG, leading coffee roasting equipment manufacturer, will be holding a number of invaluable roasting classes over the 3-day period of the show this year.
The classes will incorporate a theory session, followed by a practical class on an impressive Bühler roasting machine.
With its innovative solutions, Bühler is setting worldwide standards in the production of coffee products. Taking into account factors like product quality, process efficiency and economy, they coordinate the entire spectrum of processing stages optimally – from handling to roasting to grinding – to meet customer needs.
The theory sessions – The Craft and Science of Roasting – will be held by Dr. Stefan Schenker, Head of Business Unit Coffee at Bühler AG, Switzerland. Stefan has been active for over 20 years in the coffee process technology, as a scientist, project leader and finally as managing director. After his study as a food scientist he wrote his thesis on the subject of coffee roasting at the ETH Zurich. The engineer worked for eight years at Nestle in the product technology center as R&D project manager. Stefan has managed projects for Nespresso, Dolce Gusto and Nescafe. After his business management professional training in England he took over the management of the coffee business unit at Bühler.
The practical classes – Hands-on Roasting Experience – will be held by Marco Keller, MBD, Head of R&D Coffee at Bühler AG. Marco is a dedicated coffee scientist with more than 10 years’ experience in coffee and cocoa processing technology. He graduated from the University of Applied Science in Wädenswil, Switzerland, in 2006. His education was complemented with a part-time MBA in 2012 from Lake Constance Business School, Germany.
